1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the comment_scanner Chrome extension ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

comment_scanner is a Chrome extension that scans publicly visible YouTube comments and provides AI-powered analysis including summaries, sentiment breakdowns, categorization, and reply draft suggestions. The Extension operates through a browser sidebar overlay on YouTube video pages.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Extension. By using comment_scanner, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Account and Authentication

• Certain features require signing in via Google OAuth.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Free and Pro Tiers

• Free Tier — Includes up to 3 scans per day with basic analysis features (summary, themes, sentiment snapshot).
• Pro Tier — A paid subscription that unlocks unlimited scans, deep analysis, AI reply drafts, and additional features. Pricing is listed within the Extension and may change with notice.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

• Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, as selected at checkout.
• Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your payment card details.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of purchase if you are unsatisfied.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Extension for any unlawful purpose or in violation of YouTube's Terms of Service.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension.
• Use automated tools or scripts to interact with the Extension beyond its intended functionality.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Extension or its analysis results.
• Abuse the free tier by creating multiple accounts to circumvent daily scan limits.

8. Intellectual Property

The Extension, including its code, design, and branding, is the property of comment_scanner. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension for personal or business purposes in accordance with these terms.

9. AI-Generated Content

• Analysis results, summaries, and reply drafts are generated by AI and may not be 100% accurate.
• You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated replies before posting them on YouTube.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI outputs.

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Extension is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Extension, you consent to the data practices described therein.

11. Availability and Modifications

• We strive to keep the Extension available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
• We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.
• YouTube may change its website structure, which could temporarily affect the Extension's functionality.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, comment_scanner and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Extension. The Extension is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Extension for users who violate these terms, with or without notice.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
